The principles of naturopathy

Looking at things differently

Naturopathy is becoming more popular and of greater importance in today’s world, with the stresses of modern life taking a toll on health. A great majority of the health problems are linked to environmental factors and lifestyle. This is why a naturopath will look at what surrounds the patient :

  • chemical and environmental pollutants
  • high intake of processed or ‘convenience’ foods
  • multiple conflicting responsibilities
  • lack of good quality sleep
  • insufficient fresh air and sunlight
  • sedentary life, many hours sitting in the same position
  • excessive screen use
  • minor health problems treated with drugs that cause side effects

The body has the capacity to heal itself…

Using a range of alternative methods of diagnosis, a Naturopath can often successfully pin-point a predisposition in the body, before the onset of acute disease, and treat the patient with specific therapies and changes in his lifestyle.

The body has the capacity to heal itself if given the right conditions and naturopathy, along with acupuncture, homoeopathy, herbal medicine, and most other holistic modalities is based on  this basic understanding of the body’s innate intelligence.
