What is an allergy?

An allergy is an inappropriate response to a stimulus. It could be food, medications, environmental allergens, but also the fabric we wear or the washing powder we use to clean our clothes. The brain perceives the item as a threat and tells the body to react against it, creating an inappropriate immune response. The effects of an allergen on an individual may be physical, physiological, and/ or psychological, and can be caused by something the person has eaten, inhaled, or made contact with on one’s skin.

If you have allergies, intolerances and sensitivities, NAET® may be the answer to your problems.

Is NAET® for you?

NAET® is a powerful technique used in the treatment of allergies, sensitivities and intolerances to restore health. It was invented in California in 1983, by Dr Devi Nambudripad.

NAET® is a painless and non-invasive, it is therefore suitable for everyone: babies, young children, adults, the elderly or disabled. It is indicated for those who wish naturally to rebalance their health, thereby overcoming disorders.

There are 8000 NAET® practitioners in the world, 2500 in Europe…and at the moment only one or two in Portugal.

I was personally intolerant to eggs, which I avoided for almost five years – that was very frustrating. After doing a few sessions with NAET® I was able to eat eggs again, with no side effects. A victory!

How does it work?

NAET® acts according to principles of oriental medicine. It corrects the energy imbalances in an individual creating blockages or problems. The method is especially effective in correcting mental misperceptions of substances, which may be mistakenly identified by the brain as a threat for the body. You might think of the treatment as a kind of ‘reset’ button for the computer that is our brain. It occurs on three levels: physical, physiological and emotional. NAET® works by realigning and strengthening the immune system. By treating the cause and not the symptoms of an allergy, it works on a deeper level than most conventional medication.

What’s a typical treatment session?

The first session lasts between 1hr to 1hr30, while subsequent sessions last 45 minutes. The practitioner works with the patient to identify the vibrational imprint of different allergens that may be causing the allergic reaction. This involves response to holding a simple glass vial containing traces of various substances, and helps to establish, via muscle response testing, which substances are the cause of a patient’s troubles.

The practitioner then does a series of adjustments involving acupressure and the stimulation of reflex points. The session ends with a 20 minutes pause, during which the patient remains in contact with trace amounts of the allergen, in much the same way that the body naturally develops an immunity.

After a session, there is typically a 25hr period in which the allergenic substance(s) must be purged from an individual’s system.
