How to relaunch a healthy digestion, and above all how to stimulate our detoxification functions, after the copious celebrations of Christmas and New Year?

Here are some simple and effective tips, without using supplementation.

Remember, digestion is like an industrial production line, if one of the tasks is faulty, the final product will not be in conformity. And the final product in the case of digestion is a good absorption of nutrients and a good elimination of digestion waste.

* Do not eat too much, so as not to overload the digestive system. Adults should all leave the table being 80% satiety and not full stomach.

* Take the time to eat, at least 15 to 20 minutes, in a quiet environment, sitting at the table, in a straight posture (not sloughing on the couch!). Only eat when you are hungry and have time to eat in conscience.

* Chew your food until it is in the form of baby food, like apple compote. This is undoubtedly the most important advice of all, and so often disregarded.

* Limit to three meals a day without snacking between meals. Snacks have a great impact on the emptying of the stomach and on the cleaning of the intestines.

* Take your last meal three hours before bedtime.

* Eat endives, rucola, chicory, black radish. They stimulate bile production, which helps intestinal transit and good digestion of fats, allowing good absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.

* Think about green juices full, of chlorophyll: celery, kale, ginger, fennel …

* Eat foods that are whole (no flours), local, organic and the least processed. Remember to soak cereals (especially rice that contains arsenic), legumes, nuts and seeds.

* For better digestion respect the correct food combinations: proteins+ green vegetables, carbs +green vegetables. When you associate strong protein (meat, fish, eggs, cheeses) and carbohydrates in the same meal, digestion is heavier and often incomplete.

* Avoid foods of animal origin for dinner, favour vegetables with green leaves.

* Drink at least 1.5 to 2 liters of filtered water. Your urine should always be coloured, dark yellow in the morning and straw yellow at the end of the day. Reduce the amount of water you drink if your urine becomes completely transparent.

* Get out every day to walk and exercise outdoors, in a park or in the great outdoors, and remember to take deep breaths.

* If you have a bathtub, take Epsom salts baths. A very hot 15 minute bath with 250 grams of EPSOM salts just before bedtime will help the toxins to get out, while recharging sulphur, that will help the detoxification process, and magnesium that will release tensions.
